Seoul, Korea

So I finally got to visit Korea!
Korea was just so lovely i wish i could return someday very soon.

Here's a list of places that you should definitely visit in Korea:

Myeongdong
From korean street food to lots of deals and steals for korean cosmetics/clothes, you definitely won't want to miss this place! They've got almost all the korean cosmetic brands available here as well as the LINE friends store if you're a fan of Brown like me :)

Stylenanda is also located in Myeongdong for girls who want to get their trendy clothes or 3CE products, or just visit their super pretty insta-worthy pink cafe like we did.

Our favourite street foods: fried tteokbokki drizzled with condensed milk, chicken skewers, cheese grilled lobster and gyeranbbang (egg bread)

Some recommended places to eat at: Myeongdong Kyoja, Baekjeong BBQ, Yuktongtyeong Samgyeopsal, O'Sulloc Tea House, Isaac Toast, Sulbing

Dongdaemun
A happening place to visit at night where you can do some clothes/souvenir shopping, have some supper and soju at street stalls with yellow tents (like the ones often seen in k-dramas) that are only out at night!
Also drop by Chonggyecheon Stream when you're in this area, many couples like to stroll along the stream where there's usually music performances by street buskers.

Namdaemun
Namdaemun Market, the largest traditional market in Korea - most people would come here for the food but this market sells all sorts of random goods ranging from accessories to flowers, ginseng and even kpop merchandise!

We had lunch at a recommended place called Wang Seong Sik Dang for their Galchi Jorim (spicy braised beltfish) and it was really yummy! There were also stalls in the market selling really good fried pastries like Hotteok and steamed buns with super long queues, do check them out!

Lotte Department Store is also worth visiting if you're looking to do some tax-free shopping for fancy goods. I really liked the food department in there, they had really pretty gift boxes for cakes/chocolates/teas!

Namsan Tower
We took the cable car up and just like in k-dramas, you get to do romantic things like getting a lovelock up there and appreciating the night view of Seoul :)

Gangnam
We dropped by the K-Star road where you can find the 17 GangnamDols (bear dolls symbolising some of the famous k-pop groups). Fans of these k-pop groups like BTS, EXO, SHINee, KARA and more, can visit these GangnamDols and take some pictures with them!

We made a trip to Starfield Coex Mall to see the Starfield library and it did not disappoint! It's huge, unique and has the tallest bookshelves I've ever seen in a library.

You can also find lots of hipster shops and cafes located in Garosu-gil, loved the vibes there at night when it's just so happening with crowds in restaurants kbbq-ing and drinking soju/beers while chatting away.

Bukchon
Gyeongbukgong and Changdeokgung Palaces are open for visits and you can even rent a hanbok (korean traditional attire) here. The Hanok village is also an interesting sight where you can find traditional korean houses, which some of these are actually guesthouses!

Do check out the famous Tosokchon Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) when you're in Bukchon!

Nami Island (by KTX from Seoul)
People usually come here to cycle, appreciate the beauty of nature (especially during autumn when the leaves turn red) and just relax!

There's also the Namiseom Zipwire which we didn't get to try unfortunately as we didn't manage to get a suitable time slot, so be sure to make your bookings in advance! For people who follow k-dramas like My Love from the Star/Secret Garden, you can also check out Petit France where some of the drama's scenes were filmed at!

Jjimjilbang
Visit a Jjimjilbang (sauna/bathhouse)!
We visited Siloam Sauna which is located next to Seoul Station and even stayed the night there!
You can get massages, spa, different types of steam rooms and even noraebang (karaoke rooms) in there. They also have a canteen in there where you can get food at reasonable prices.

Extras
Definitely drop by their convenience stores for quick bites whenever you can and feel like it because we enjoyed those kimbaps, cup noodles and popsicles so much!

It's pretty convenient and easy to navigate around in Seoul as long as you have a reliable app. I personally like to use Citymapper - just key in the name of your destination and it will provide you with a few routes to choose from with different choices of transportation, cab/bus/train timings as well as the prices and time each route would require to reach your destination!
